Oregami-News

Since a few weeks I am preparing to move teh webserver stuff to a new virtual machine.
Up to now oregami.org (and all subdomains) and kultpower.de were on the same machine. The old is (an old) Debian, the new is Ubuntu Server.

Today I activated the first domains on the new server:

New build-server available: http://build.oregami.org
New running test-client: http://test.client.oregami.org
New running test-server: http://test.server.oregami.org

Every source code commit can be "deployed" with one click (or if I want to it can even be done automatically).

Jira, Wiki and the regular website have to be moved in the next days. This will be more work since there is more "action" here :-)
So do not be surprised if you see a "maintenance message" somewhere for (hopefully only) a few hours.

I woke up early today and so I moved forum.oregami.org to the new server as well!

If you notice anything that is missing or not working, please tell me about it.
Happy discussions on the new server!

Still can't get to this site through my ISP, what timespan was configured as DNS timeout? Have to use a different DNS to reach the site.

Perhaps you have to clear your local DNS cache? My Firefox also needed a restart, it seems to have an own DNS cache or somewhat.

New new IP adress for forum.oregami.org is:
5.9.102.174

I checked it here:
http://centralops.net/co/

What ist a "DNS timeout"? For me every DNS change worked after some minutes...

At the moment I am trying to move these two domains to the new server as well:

jira.oregami.org
wiki.oregami.org

Expect these two to be temporarily not available.

It is indeed a remarkable date for such a devastating event for Moby Games... They had to know it would be deadly to launch that redesign on that specific day... right? :P

Now I got it:
These two domains have just been moved to the new server:

jira.oregami.org
wiki.oregami.org

The new dns config (ip=5.9.102.174) should be active for everyone in the next hours, depending on dns cache configurations on your machine and at your provider.
Please report any problems here.

I had to renew the license for the Gliffy plugin (we use it for the UML diagrams), but that was no problem thanks to the quick support of the Atlassian team (they answered a few hours after my request).

So now all oregami (sub) domains have successfully benn moved to the new virtual machine, which runs Ubuntu Server which is very much more up to date than the old "Debian 5".
Makes maintenance a lot easier!

I updated the status of the features for the "new" prototype.

Not so bad I think.
